Bet you didn't know Sairys - from which saerus was derived - is the Dragon God of Wind. Appropriate, no?

*crosses fingers* Happy, carefree at the beach. Let it be, let it be, let it be! Even if I'm just the cloud over the sea, I can deal with that!

4:03 pm - I don't get it.
Does being a celebrity automatically make people want you?

No matter what anyone says, this will never, EVER look attractive in ANY way, shape or form.

Borrowed from Perez Hilton's web site.

I mean really. Gross.

From Rob~

01. What is essential for your happiness?
Beats me. If I knew, I'd be happy a whole lot more, don'tcha think?

02. What are you wearing at the moment?
Clothes. A novel concept, I know.

03. What is your favorite place to be?
Usually in bed. I do not get enough sleep these days.

04. What is your favorite scent?
Macintosh Apple. *w* And pear.

05. What was your favorite school subject in grade school?
Grade school? WTF is grade school?

06. What do you drink the most?
Dr. Pepper.

07. What color is your room?
White. It wasn't our choice to paint it, but it's better than, say, yellow.

08. Who was your first big crush?
First BIG crush? I liked Bronson Harris in first or second grade, but my REAL first crush was in fifth grade to a sweet young man named Dustin Eckenberg. (I may or may not have butched his last name.)

09. What did you want to be when you grew up?
Singer. Pretty standard answer. And an artist. Both dreams are just dreams, so where I go from here I'm really not sure.

10. Have you even done anything illegal?
I've run a few stop signs by accident, but I've never done anything illegal on purpose.

11. Do you ever get Deja Vu?
A lot.

11. Do you ever get Deja Vu?
More frequently than I realized.

12. What 3 people do you invite to dinner?
Just one, I don't need a posse. o_O

13.What is your current desktop?
At home: Persona 3 line up, each character opposite their Persona. At work: a Mushi-shi collage.

14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
Rob is a total sweetheart who deserves the very best in everything. It's just kicking life in the balls to get it to agree that's difficult.

15. What are you afraid of?
Costing my loved ones: time, money, an opportunity, anything.

16. What's your favourite item of clothing?
My Harley Davidson boots.

17. What are you into right now?
Sleeping, or trying to. >: Really though, I'm trying to reignite my creativity. Failing, btw.

18. What did you do today?
Woke up, and have been working for almost 3 hours.

19. What do you want?
Sleep. And a Dr. Pepper. >:

20. What should you be doing right now?
Resuming working.

21. What's the meaning behind your LJ username/name/nicknames you go by?
LJ Username: Saerus. It's a bastardized spelling of Sairys, the Dragon God of Air.
Nickname: Chrys. A long standing muse and OC (Original Character) who drives me crazy.

Too lazy to tag, fill out if you'd like. <3

8:00 am - New in the Zoo
Yeah, so, we moved Friday/Saturday back into my folk's place. They're having some financial issues so we're gonna help out for a while. It'll give us a chance to save some money too, and with any luck, maybe rent a condo or a house [since apartment rentals are nearly as expensive now].

Mom was really sick recently, was in the hospital for 11 days. That was really, really rough.

My great-grandfather, Papa Sid, passed last week [I honestly cannot remember if it was Wednesday or Thursday, as this month has been a whirlwind]. I can't grieve, because he has suffered so much in the past 3 years. I feel so much better knowing he's at peace now. I miss him sorely.

That's pretty much been my life since July. I had my 25th birthday in August, reconnected with Katie (who left for Alaska!) and Holly (who is doing better than I've ever seen). That's it for now, methinks.

Short and lackluster post, but I just wanted to record that I'm still pushing forward.

1:01 pm - So I saw Batman yesterday.
All I can say is, don't go in with expectations.

It's not that it was BAD. But after all the hype, I guess I felt the movie lacked substance. There were a LOT of stories going on - Bruce Wayne, Joker, Rachel, Alfred, Lucius all took a backseat to the main focus of Harvey Dent and Gordon. Not that this is a bad thing, mind you, but it felt like details or bigger plot points were missed in the whole mafia scandal and the Chinese guy being thrown in there. It felt almost like Two-Face was an after thought (his reason for snapping was pretty lame to me, especially the lengths he was going through to 'make it right'...), but Joker...

I did love Heath's performance. You can tell he wasn't acting. He WAS the Joker. This became very apparent to me after the pencil scene (you who have seen it, you know!), and the guy calls him a Freak. The way he looks at the guy...I can't even describe it, so careless and blistering at the same time, dismissive as he continues on...he wasn't acting. It was a real amazing thing to watch.

It was a good watch, but it wasn't the Blockbuster I was expecting (but I say the same about the previous record, Spiderman). I'd recommend it to anyone who was curious, as long as you don't go in with any expectations. It'll be a better watch that way. :)

Totally going to see Watchmen, though. Screenplay by David Hayter and the visual designs of 300...oh yeah. I'm there.

That reminds me, I didn't recap Anime Expo 2008, did I? I'll do that real fast.

We went Friday/Saturday. Friday, we went to David Hayter's panel (voice of Solid Snake in the Metal Gear Series, Will LOVES this guy - and for those of you who are less video game inclined, he wrote the screenplays for X-Men and X-Men 2), saw some awesome cosplays, went home mid afternoon. It's worth noting that one of the awesome cosplays was Big Boss, and that he was 2 people away from asking a question to David Hayter before they shut down his panel...I felt bad about that, especially since almost all of the people asking questions were idiots or inconsiderate jerks. Saturday, we stood in line for David Hayter's autograph. We were #250 in line, and he only had an hour. Suffice to say, after an hour, he'd only gotten to #80 because he was being awesome and writing personalized messages to fans and posing for pictures (although he wasn't supposed to).

He goes on well beyond his time for signing, trying to make sure everyone gets what they came for. Really nice guy like that. Then we're told you can get an autograph OR a picture, but not both, because they do have to get him out of there 'cause someone else was coming in. So Will, Alex and I are almost up to Mr. Hayter, and the staff inform us that the line will be cut off soon. Me, for whatever unknown reason, got out of line, went towards the back to where that Big Boss cosplayer was (from the panel), and told him that the line probably would be cut off before it got to him and that I wanted him to come and take my place. He was shocked, but he obliged. He told Mr. Hayter what I did and the man was kind enough to point and say, "Take a picture." (Since I was taking pictures of Will and Alex.) So I did! Sadly, I later found out that the line WAS cut off, just before he would have gotten a chance to go up. I would have gotten a picture with David Hayter, but the picture I just showed you guys...best picture ever. :)

It was a very fun con. Hoping to bring s'more friends next year!

Also posted the rest of the pictures on my Facebook. <3

12:59 pm - The Space Between
Edited, as usual. Just had to get something off my chest - I don't expect everyone to understand the reasoning behind it. :3

Which Goddess lurks in your soul?

Hecate

You hold more power in your little finger than most do in their entire being! Hecate is perhaps the most selective of all deities who inhabit the souls of mortals. Being the goddess of the crossroads, Cosmic Knowledge, and of course witches and magic she can’t be bothered by residing in the souls of the mundane. She often chooses those who practice the craft of the old ways and those who harbor deep mystical secrets that must be kept close. Your soul is old, perhaps having been present at the birth of the cosmos in some form or another. Your ability to comprehend the necessity of death and it’s beauty have awakened a connection to the underworld, where Hecate has been known to reign and you relish this otherworldly bond. Darkness suits you well, as many of the best secrets of the cosmos can be found there.

3:30 pm - New years, schmoo ears.
Since New Years...

I've been plagued by my father (who is suddenly deciding he must be a part of my life after not being there for 24 years...talk about awkward).

I've continued my fight with QuickBooks at work; I believe this program will never work properly, and that I will forever be behind because of it. I also believe this will bite me in the ass on my review.

Will and I have made a decision to figure things out by August.

My dishwasher has broken.

One of the lights (that I can't fix) in the kitchen has burned out.

I've discovered my closets were never put back on their tracks after the toilet overflooded (I don't remember if I talked about that...it was a damn nightmare).

Will left for a 5 day trip on a favor for my boss, and spent the whole week with said boss (hey, I wanted SOME time...;w; ).

I got sick the day he left (yesterday).

Today, my account has been used to buy something that was not purchased by me, thus prompting canceling my ATM card and being without one until the issue is resolved.

So happy new year to all of you. I sure hope it's going better than mine. X3; Is that all? I don't remember, but after that last one, I had to get it off of my chest or fear exploding (since Will's phone is 'not working' while he's out of state for the boss...talk about bad luck).

I'm not dead or enjoying this aspect of life, but I'm handling it the best I can. Keep smiling!

EDIT: I just had my first bloody nose in YEARS! On my white tank top! :D (Is Monday over yet?)

10:20 am - What's new?
Saw The Golden Compass the other day. It was good, I enjoyed it, but it was very rushed and...somewhat 'glossed over' as though to avoid any controversy.

I am agnostic. I'm not one way or the other. That being said...

WARNING: Rant about the controversy behind the books/film. )

Will went to the company meeting last night. For those of you who don't remember, he won the 42" Plasma TV last year as a door prize. Guess what? This year, he won ANOTHER door prize!! He is now the proud owner of a Notebook, a nice one at that. I didn't go this year, and it seems karma went with him instead.

Mmm...the Men's Warehouse spokesman/CEO (George Zimmer) sat by us at Chili's on Saturday, that was cool.

Some financial issues came up...doubt I'll be able to buy Xmas gifts, seeing how close to Xmas it is. Anyway. That's all.

Serious and to the point, and sometimes bordering on the sadistic, it takes a special breed of uke to satisfy your needs. You tend to be anti-social with little patience for most people. You need someone to challenge you and push you to your limits, and then be able to take the punishment you dish out, which frequently involves rope and alchohol. This is what makes the Badass Uke the yin for your yang, as you're the only one able to put them in line and satisfy each other. Now you can get pins or t-shirts of your results here.
